Darcy's Death - The Game - A Hindi Movie Review

Tara Matka, a Hindi film directed by S.S. Rajamouli and starring Aishwarya Rai and Sharukh Khan has won several national and international awards. But is it a great film? Well, by all accounts, it's a fantastic film and definitely worth watching. So, let's take a quick look at what this movie has to offer...

It's a love story between two cops -cers - set against the backdrop of Mumbai. The movie begins with the murder of a taxi driver by extortionists. His wife is beaten and taken to an orphanage. The killer apparently tries to get away with her money, which he plans to use to blackmail the police. However, with the help of some locals and Satta Matka (right perception) between his legs, Satta manages to save his wife.

The cops arrive at the scene, find the killers and arrest the boss of the extortionists. But not before one of the cops snaps and kills the boss. Satta and his associate, Darcy (P.S. P.N.

Darcy and Satta then go to the police station and confront the cops about the whole affair. Darcy threatens the cops that if they do not nab his partner, Darcy will leak the entire story to the media about how the cops tried to bust a big fish. The whole scenario turns out to be too much for the cops who finally decide to go for a peaceful settlement between the two crime bosses. However, their reunion is cut short when Darcy gets shot in the leg. The movie ends with Satta rushing towards the hospital to fetch his limp body while Darcy recovers from his injury in the hospital.

The plot of the film is undoubtedly interesting. It deals with a murder case that goes on to highlight the brutality of our society as well as Indian society in general. The film is not only thought-provoking but also very funny. Some of the scenes are even quite touching.

If you are looking for a good cop/bad cop comedy, then The Game is the right film for you. There are many people who compare the film to the Ram Gopal Varma's Mumbai Police Story, except that neither is a Mumbai cop film. The Matkata Matka and Darcy's demise are just one of the minor twists in the story, which adds to its popularity. If you have not seen the film, then you must do that. Just like all other great Indian state games, The Game is sure to be a box office hit.
